Very interesting Stuart, last summer our C15A, our caisson and our 25 Pounder was transported to Québec City by Trailer, called Beaver Tail, for the GRAND DÉFILLÉ (Québec Cité 400th).
They used the same method to secure our equipment. The only difference is that we had rubber mats to protect the paint on the axle were the chains touched the paint. Yes I would like to see moore ways to secure equipment. Gilles UBIQUE |

My wife pointed out the truck hauling the gun/limber/25 pounder when we were passing thru Drummondville last summer. Quote: "Isn't that one of those ugly trucks you collect?" At least she is qualified CMP Spotter Class III... I wasn't aware (until you started posting on this forum) that there was another CGT/25 Pdr outside of Toronto. You will have to advertise more. Stuart, I remember the Svc Bn/CN loading the train and securing the MLVWs for transport out to RV85 with similar type equipment...except they cinched them down too much and damage to the suspension resulted. Expensive lesson learned...

yes this was our equipment.
We are in our first year and thanks to the Limber Gunner of Toronto specially to M. Herb Danter, we are abble to fire. Herb we are very very gratefull and THE 3RD (Montreal) Field Battery Of Artillery wish to thanks you. Is this ennought advertising? By the way this is a hell of a place to talk about an ugly truck. With all the $$$$ invest an not to mention the HOURS HOURS of hard labor now I see it has a beautifull FAT (Field Artillery Tractor). I will published some pictures of our missions later. Thanks for the info and keep in touch Last edited by CWO (ret) Gilles Aubé; 04-12-15 at 16:17. |
