My father in law, Dave Hayward (MBE) has just published (self published) a fiction based around his time with the N.Z. army during the Malayan Emergency(?)
The book is Called "Point of the spear" I read the manuscript earlier on and it was a great read. Dave had a noteable career in the N.Z. army, not only serving in Malaya, but later in Vietnam. He rose to the rank of WOI, and became Sarn'Major of the Army. You can Google it, and a reveiw. If you have an interest in purchasing a copy, then I will have to do some homework. Other than me sending you a copy, Im not sure how you might get one. A copy is $30.00nz.

Us David (Dave) Haywards have writing in the blood!
Amazingly I know of another chap born on the same day as me, with different middle name who is now financially 'bust'. Years ago I had a horrible feeling that my doppelganger might land me in trouble because of confusion and lo and behold we had accounts with the same bank! My late father-in-law was in the RAFVR in the war, and trained in Canada. He did get to India and then Hong Kong though, the latter in the post-war RAFVR in 1951. |
