Default New Zealand Land Rover FFR

I've been asked to help kit a L/R with wireless and wonder what kit was used. I would have suspected it to be Larkspur or Clansman but it was suggested that US gear was used as well (PRC77/AM2060). Anybody know much about this?

Bruce

In my own FFR I have fitted the RT/66-R110 which is a marconi-Pye set but made in the USA....in some quarters I believe it was called the American C-42!if required I have another complete set with mounting trays etc....best regards malcolm

I guess it depends what era you wish the LR to depict Bruce.....

plenty of choices with comms kit....
C42/B47 C45/B48 and all the earlier Larx kit....

I saw a LWB in the Waiouru Museum storage sheds with a PRC77 and PRC47...

here is the Museums SWB FFR at a LR 60th event last year....
C42 & C45 with all the kit....

I have a ZC1 in my 1951 80", that is quite in keeping with the era.

the clansman series is all too new for me to have any knowledge of.....
There is an article in a fairly recent NZMVCC mag with an outline of LR comms kit...I shall see if I can dig it up.

Brent.

Default Thankyou

Thanks for the details Brent and Mal.

I have the 109' Long wheelbase version of the NZ 2A Landrover FFR. It's a bit of a basket case but I have a lot of the sigs gear for the fitout as well.

A friend in the local RSL is ex NZ Army and used to drive them. He gave me a set of NZ RSL stickers etc on Anzac day as an incentive to complete the rebuild. Very kind of him.

Nice pic Brent and a bit of encouragement.

Does anyone know where I might source a power control box box for the rear compartment ?

Cheers

Phill

Nice photos!
Yes, I think the owner is going to have to commit to an era. Here's a photo of the unit. I can't tell what year it is, they all look alike.
