Hello all,
We are about to re-commission our Museum Staghound and are in need of a wiring diagramm (and maybe some operator instructions). We want to get the battery connections right without risk of fire or burnout of the electrics. The vehicle seems to have had four 6v batteries originally fitted, which coupled together to provide 24v and also had a 12v tap off for the No 19 Wireless set. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks Phill

Hi Phill,
I have a copy of a (general) T17E1 Manual that I can arrange to post to the Museum if that's any use? Regards Alex |

Phill,
I have a copy of TM 9-741 (Medium Armoured Car T17E1), which is the Tech Manual for the Stag. I've looked through it, but there are no wiring diagrams as such, just a bunch of smaller task oriented electrical diagrams. You probably know the sort of thing I'm describing. If you're coming to the big smoke, you can have a look and borrow it, if it's not already in your collection. Payment would be something of little value, like say a Model T engine ![]() Jack |

TMs for the T17E1 are on line on this site. Just search for T17E1 under Military Publications.

Alex, Jack and John.
Thank you very much for the Info and offers... Alex - yes please - that would be very much appreciated. We can arrange to have a copy made and returned to you if need be. Jack I will take you up on that offer with the same above arrangement - thanks. John - I have been on the US Army Heritage site but so far can't download the content but will keep trying. The plan was originally to drive the Stag up to the sunday markets in the main street of out tiny village to help raise desperately needed funds for our not-so tiny museum. Having serviced both engines, both auto trans and the transfer box as well as the fuel systems you can imagine our dissapointment to find multiple leaks and general failures of the cooling systems ! It's gonna be a longer and more windy road than we hoped. Then there is the White Scout car, White Half Track, Bren Carrier(s), Dingo Armoured Car, Rover Armoured Car(s), General Grant Tank, Stuart Tank, Valentine Tank, Ferret Scout Car, Blitzes, Studebaker, etc etc still to be re-commissioned... ![]() Cheers Phill
