After much anticipation Tim Scriven finally got to dunk his DUKW at lake Kangaroo north of Kerang in central Victoria.Tim was lucky to have an Ex DUKW owner, Dave Mottram on hand to offer advise on what to engage when. Saturday afternoon was spent in and out of the water checking drains and taking people for rides. Sunday morning and it was time for a photo shoot with members of the Geelong re-enactment group who all looked the part in the correct uniforms and the DUKW was dressed up with a few accessories. After the photo shoot the local Kerang car club turned up for a BBQ lunch and more DUKW rides. Thanks to Tim for the opportunity to drive the DUKW into the lake for a play, (had my fix till Corowa). A top weekend was had by all.

G'day Euan,
It looks like a good time was had by all. There is a tourism operator who runs a Vietnam era LARC on tours in the ocean around Agnes Waters and The Town of 1770 which is not far from me. He has one LARC that takes out tourists and another in his yard that has a crane on the back of it. http://www.1770larctours.com.au I don't have any pictures of the crane LARC - not yet. Kind Regards Lionel

Hi Guys
Well the weekend was a blast had a heap of fun and learnt an incredle amount. At the very end had a Lady come up and ask if her father could have a ride, as he had been in the Army, so of coarse back in we went. He was actually a Dukw driver and had participate in a landing with five other Dukws with troops on board in PNG, so that certainly made the weekend Thanks for putting up the photos Euan. We hope to go out again Australia Day, and then the weekend afterwards, so if you are about drop in, the next swim will be at Corowa if all the plans go ahead. Tim |
