Default ID please- spring compressor?

Hi all,

A mate of mine asked if i could help ID these, what he believes to be spring compressors. He thought they might be for a bren carrier, but is not sure. I dont have a clue so am asking here as you guys are the best i know at ID'ing odd things!

Details are: stamped TP 5635 and are approx 500mm long.

Can anyone please ID them? He is happy to sell them also if anyone needs them (a fair price for each party were his words)- please send me a message with contact details and i shall get him to contact you.

Cheers,
Ian.
