Default Replacement ignition coil for a '44 C-15A?

Is it possible to get a modern replacement or do I have to look for an actual part? Or worse, something specially made?
If they are available, please let me know where and what part number please.

Default Easy to find....

First thing to determine is what voltage will you be running.....6 or 12 volts...?

Any NAPA or farm tractor shop will have them stock...... you will need a ballister resistance to keep from cooking your points. While at it..... a new condenser (cheap) and points might not be a bad idea..... remember that a lot of DELCO parts are stock item in farm supply shops.....for example points, condenser, rotor and dizzy caps.....

You might want to consider converting to a Pertronix system..... no more pints/condenser to worry about.... and a real hot spark with a 40 k coil.

Default Bob right

Hi

Bob is right on source for rotor, cap, points, condenser, and coil NAPA has these bits. You don't need the resistor if you retain the 6 volt system. Have them to look up a 1946 - 1948 chev truck.

But if your points are in good condition keep them, I've found that the metal in the new replacement points is not as good as the 1942 original points which are back in my truck because the new ones failed. I carry a spare set which is a pretty good guarantee you will never need them.

Cheers Phil
