Default 22 hour marathon border raid

At 2AM this morning Euan McDonald and I returned from a border raid deep into New South Wales territory to recover my FGT rear body "colander" from Keith Adam's property near Oakdale, just south of Sydney.
We had departed shortly after 4AM for a largely trouble free trip which also involved drop offs and further pick ups from other collections along the way.

About half way home at Tarcutta.

This is at Keith's place, and this is it's good side, yes really. That's former owner Peter Morgan assisting. Peter has another FGT No9 to restore.

Almost on.

In the main street of Yass with the added Dodge engine for Euan's father in law which almost broke everyone's back loading it.

The next step is to throughly photograph and measure before removing the rusty bits and sandblasting before deciding on the best place to cut to join to the rest of the truck and consequent reskinning.

Finding rear bodies like that, in that condition here in England, would be almost unbeiliviable these days, so well done guys. Just as a matter of interest, which type/series/year of Dodge is that motor destine for ?
Regards
Keith

Default Body

Hi Keith

Yes it is a most wonderful thing even though it may be beyond a cut and polish.

The Dodge motor is destined for a stock racing car.

I just realised there are three Keiths in this thread; surely a record for this forum.

If you had droped in for a cupper on the way past it could have been an even 24 hours

The thought did cross my mind, Robert, but as you say it would have taken a bit longer - not to mention the extra distance from the highway. But will make amends for that soon.

Next trip you will have to travel as Keith "Smith" or it will take 22 DAYS calling in on everyone you know on the road.

That's right Matt we could've all met at your place and had one of your famous aussie BBQ's. They've missed out on their chance now haven't they.

Surely we'd not be made that welcome on a border raid. More likely the subject of the BBQ I think...
