Ford 3 Ton 6 cylinder Military truck ?

Hello again,

Some years back I was offered a wartime Ford 3 tonner which was reported to have had an original FORD 6 Cylinder engine - Did such a beast appear in any numbers and was this a real rarity I let slip through my fingers ?

I still know where it is. Can't remember much at all about it except the engine was out and on the ground and the rest was none too pretty...
