Thanks Mike - they're great! That's just the sort of no-nonsense caravan you have when you're a C60X owner!

Hi all - I reckon I have seen these images before. I believe Hugh Thompson, Jan's father, used to do this. It could even be him.

My dad was in the house moving industry and I am sure Keith might be able to post a photo of the Blitz he used to move houses.
There was a house remover based at Chelsea in Melbourne who used Blitz's to move houses. His name was John Enders. Maybe these pictures are of his trucks.

Mike it is now in Traralgon. Heading East, turn right off the Highway at Hungry Jacks, (Liddiard Road?) heading south and take the first on the left.(Head Street). It is on your right about the 3rd or 4th block after the dogleg. Got no idea who owns it now.
Regards Rick.

Rick, that photo sort of takes your breath away in that you can see so much potential - but will anyone take it on? Rust in peace.

There was a MWB Ford Blitz there as well. I was interested in it , but it's now down at Nilma awaiting restoration .
A few years back , two Ford F60L's were cut up just out of Warragul, they both had winches in situ, it all went into the scrappy bin . The Warragul hospital had a F15A for years , they ran a coal fired incinerator for the hospital waste and the F15A was used to push the coal around the yard .

Thanks everyone for the comments - I thought I'd have a crack at trying to try an illustration in the style of an Airfix-style illo drawing my truck - which I know is a bit of work of fiction as the C60X wasn't a GS bodied vehicle in Australia. I'm pretty sure mine was an RAAF tanker, but it has a Studebaker US6 body - I tooka photo, hand painted the truck from the photo and most of the background - except the Zeroes and Marsden Matting is drawn in photoshop. I've had fun. Cheers Warren.

That finished picture looks very profesional. I love the way you have used the colours, no one would ever know it was originally a photograph. You could actually have it blown up, framed and hung on the wall, it would make a great talking point. Well done. ![]() Tony ![]()

Thanks little Jo - the truck is actually a painting - I photographed the truck outside my house and copied it - it's watercolour on watercolour paper. I mucked around with it a bit - and worked up the background. Here's a photo of the illustration earlier on....

.. and this is the photo I took it from. The truck has since been repainted and I'm getting it ready for Corowa in 2012. See you there?

Hi Warren,
You had better leave the drawing kit at home in March next year, otherwise there will be a queue a mile long of hopefuls waiting for a similar treatment of there own truck. Fortunatley I won't be IN the queue, I will be in front of it...... Rich.

How about putting a LAC in the hatch with a bren shooting down one of the Zeros?

Having now Seen the original photo and the various stages of the production I can only marvel at the outcome. Keith idea of the bren is not a bad idea making it look like a desperate situation. Hey mate there could be a nice little business lurking there. I can see different types of memebers own Military Vehicles in different senarios making their own vehicle come to life in battle. Sorry Richard I would push to the front of the line. Cheers Tony ![]()

You can hang the Bren on a gallows mount so people realise it wasn't for lifting the spare wheel.
