You meet the stangest and micest people when looking for possible CMPs....
Right in the village of Hammond we have a guy wo does a lot of work on old flatty Fords..... I took some oics of a 46 chev.....same body as a 42 staff car...... last ran in 1957....some one took a wheel bearing off the front axle and a few years later the engine/tranny came out...... but could be converted to a staff car if one was so inclined....asking $500 ........ would be worth while negotiating. Hew also dug up the specail tool for setting up the points on a Ford flat head.... made by Wasco..... forgot to ask what he wanted for it.... he has another one plus a floor mounted Allen dizzy set tool with special Ford attachements for it...... not yet ready to sell that one..... I have no personal interest except to share with fellow CMPers..... Also found what I went there for..... complete early 235 with ribbed valve cover.....Bellhousing to fan, carb, starter, generator..... that one will most likely stay with the barn...... Contact me for his tel. ### you make your own deal !!! Bob

Bob
Strange you should mention the Dizzy tool, last weekend I visited a small private museum http://www.wfkicehouse.org/newsite/ on a road tour with our MV Club main focus of the museum is automotive and mostly Ford including displays of Ford Dealership garage including the old work benches and parts bins. One of the tools on the bench was the tool head for setting up the crab head distributors (excuse the blurry photo flash did fire) but what will drive some people crazy are the parts in the parts bins. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil
Tell them to empty the boxes and save them for display and sell the content/parts ........ I would love to get my hands on that Allen distributor set up machine he has. It allows to sping the dizzy, check the weights/springs. set dwell, etc..... when you are finished the dizzy is ready to be dropped in an engine and fire it up....... last one I saw was at a flea market and had just been sold for the full asking price of $150. Hi Bob
They have the entire parts department from when they sold the dealership. Doubt they will be selling the parts off they're still using in them for active restorations. Not really a thing of needing the money with the private museum. When I visited I met 3 generations of the family all involved in the operation. Fun looking around. Cheers Phil
