The Canadian Air and Space Museum has been given an eviction notice by the government which plans to turn the site into a four pad hockey arena.
For those of you that have not visited the museum, it is full of vintage aircraft including a replica of the Avro Arrow and a restoration project on a Lancaster. It would be a damn shame to see the museum go by the wayside. Please write your local MP. Ministers involved are Rona Ambrose, James Moore and Mark Adler. more information at www.CASMuseum.org Thank you Randy |

Hi Randy
Just read your post and spent a little time viewing the museums web page, and from whats shown on the web site loosing the museum and its exhibits would be a real loss. Hope that people can influence things to preserve the work of the museum. People should take a moment to read http://www.casmuseum.org/e-news.php it sounds as if the building owner is more interested in his bottom line than helping. Cheers Phil

Phil,
You are right...it would be a real loss. I spoke with the education director today and all the staff and volunteers are on pins and needles. Hope some of the other members see this post and write to the MP's/Ministers involved. Nothing like a little public pressure to get this undone. Also, kind of strange that a Conservative govt would close a military museum. I always thought that was a Liberal initiative. Cheers Randy |
