Default 18 inch rims

Righto chaps, another round of what the bejezus and why??

Note this first rim, fairly conventional, 5 stud, 18 inch rim right? Used on Lend Lease Fords in Australia. Also called the 'desert rim'.

Default Now look at this one

18 inch rim with 8 stud pattern. 8 stud is not a cocky modification...it is on one half of the split rim and has come like that from the factory.

Well...it appears to have, anyway..

Any thoughts as to what vehicle these came off??

This appears to be the second type you show on a 'D' series Dodge.

Well ....

I did get three decent 20 inch rims out of the same stack and you never know...I might decide to do up a Dodgey one day...

Any more photo's of Lend lease trucks with 18 inch rims fitted chaps??

Default old Kingaroy photos

Here is two Fords showing both types of wheel fitted. These were taken at the late Ken Hugh place at Kingaroy Queensland some years back now.

Have yet to find a Chev photo with enough detail to see the wheels used.

Default 3rd type?

Is this a third type of 18in wheel fitted to a modified experimental Chev. Look like 10 studs to the brake drum

Interesting photo Cliff. The Chevs I've owned one '48 and a '75 had five studs on the front and ten studs on the rear. The front had a plate that covered every second hole.

Default Good shot..

I think in that 2nd photo Cliff, the rims are Blitz 20 inch.
That may be what you were intending to illustrate.

Fewer bolts in the outer diameter ring than the 18's pictured above.

Good example of the 5 stud 18 in the first photo.
