Hi All
I thought I would share with you, that we have just returned from a wonderful long weekend away at the Jamestown Airshow. Where members of the "Re-enactment South Australia" guys did battle between the Allied Forces and German troops. We members of the WVCG supplied the vehicles, 25 pounder Howitzer and the mobile armour. The pyrotechnics used created some realism to the event. WW2 Fighter planes and a Hudson bomber were used to simulate straffing and bombing runs which thrilled the 7,000 plus crowd. The re-enactmet group also set up WW2 Allied and German tent lines to show the visitors how both sides lived in the field back in WW2. A great 3 days was had by all, with both sides getting together around a blazing fire at night where more then a few beers and snapps were consumed. This would have been very interesting to the locals living nearby who could hear German and English wartime songs carried on the wind as the night wore on and good cheer grew. ![]() ![]() Ohh, I nearly forgot, the Allies won the battle. ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers Tony ![]()
