Hey Fellas,
Posting this up for Steve Hawken. He has 4 brand new 7.00 x 16" Firestone NDTs for sale. Tires were bought by mistake. Before he takes them back to the US to return, he thought he'd post em up here for sale. Looking for a firm $625 CAD + Shipping or local pickup in the NCR. He can send them back for a refund, so there is zero wiggle room, but I think you'll be hard pressed to come close to beating that price in Canada anyway. Thanks Scotty

Yup, basically any Post-War Jeep with 16" wheels, M38 to M151A2. Not sure about MB/GPW mind you.
This is a limited time offer Fellas as if they don't sell up here, he'll be taking them back down to Ogdensburg in June. |

Didn't Terry just buy a M151A2 with some weather cracked tires? Would sure look good with some new skins...

NDCC (round-shouldered style) are used on M38, M38A1 and M151 jeeps rather than the NDT (square-shouldered) from my observation.

I did just buy one with weathered tires, but I'm holding off for the moment because I have other NOS and pretty good tires in the parts locker already. That, and I've used all my cash for the month.

Terry: I guarantee you will be using your hindsight if you do not buy these tires. Fresh rubber, locally available, and at a great price. Firestones at $156 each is pretty much the list price in the US, and that is before shipping, taxes, driving to the border, etc.
If they were closer to here they would already be gone. |

Well, I got an offer from someone out that way to bring them out to me later this summer. So I'll give Terry a day to make up his mind, and if he does not want them, then I will take them.
Tic toc, tic toc Terry. |

Hi
Might be a dumb question but with all the back and forth I can't tell if they sold or not. Dan |

Yes, they are in my care and custody as of last Friday night. And I had the Jeep up to 92 kph on the drive to Steve's. The speedo is in mph, so that was courtesy of the GPS navigator. Another thing I learned is when the passenger seat is adjusted back, the space between the front and the frame makes a perfect coffee cup holder.
I have now started to sort through the collection of old old NDCC tires to identify the best 4 or 5 for the M151A2. Take the M+S's off the rims and mount as many decent lugged tires for driving. And, keep the NDTs for the M38A1 CDN3. Maybe not technically correct, but it won't be on the road for a while (honestly) and there is no sense using up the new new tires and leaving 40-yr old rubber sitting to get older. BTW, does anyone know how to read sidewalls to see when a tire was manufactured?

I have always found the year of manufacture in clear on the old tires. I have also noted that many of the older tires (pre to mid 70s) do not have the DOT markings on them, technically making them illegal for road use. A good safety inspector will fail your inspection with them.
