Anyone know what this Wire Rope/Chain combination would be from?

Test date is 1965 Rated at 10.1 ton LV6/MT11 FV530942 I assume it is truck related, certainly British Army, sounds too heavy for a Humber, so Bedford RL or similar? Too light for armour? I have just done a belated search search on Google, and it is referred to as a Land Rover Chain, is this correct? Rich.

To me, and God knows I'm no expert, it looks the same as the CES item for many a Ferret.

put a couple of hooks on it and it looks like a riveted carrier tow chain assy. Is that LV6 MT11?

Even has the 14 chain links on each end like the carrier. The only change seems to be that they used a large swage on the loop of the cable, as opposed to the old method of joining the cable.

Often the pattern of a common issue item will not change over decades in a military. The Cdn Forces still have some tooling issued with either CMP or UC part numbers given as a reference. |

			Thanks Guys.

Robin, found a pic of Ferret CES, certainly looks very similar. Lynn, yes- LV6/MT11 Hardly appears to be an exotic piece of kit, and the design does appear to be long lived. It was originally bought for a WOT restoration as the design was right, but the date was out by 20+ years. I have found they are still available : http://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=8730 , hence my refferal to a Land Rover connection. This one will go into the back of the Humber, dare say it will be in use shortly Rich.

Theexmod quite often has parts in the wrong category or description.
