Wanted to spread the word of another successful Canada Day parade season. The heavy convoy formed at Mike Calnan's museum starting about 0745. An assortment of movers and shakers, and one that whistled too, each towing a suitable artillery piece or a trailer. Mike's Ferret was acting up, so it just rode on a trailer. My little M151A2 was the only unburdened MV in our little run. There was even a minivan towing a small flatbed with a Pak37.

After a series of breakdowns at one halt, the convoy arrived at the pretty little town of Merrickville. There we joined a light convoy of Ilti' who were fresh from a driver/mechanic clinic at Gilles and Carole's. Earlier in the day, he and I had shouted at each other between the vehicles as we drove parallel. The highlight of that parade were the 6 Pdr salutes. I don't know if it was a good thing or not, but the sounds of revving engines drowned out the town priest leading an earnest prayer. After lunch at the Legion and plenty of visiting, the next road move was to Kemptville. After timing change, the mostly heavy convoy fell in near the rear of the parade. A bigger town and a lot more crowd. After final checks and fluid top ups, the packet returned to Mike's museum.

A good run in good weather. I might be back next year!
