Default CF Jeep YJ Review vehicle photo reference gallery

There have over times been efforts to supplement the light utility vehicle fleet with green four wheel drive vehicles of various shapes and makes.

These three pictures of 79133 were take at CFB Borden in 1995 and show the basic runabout Jeep YJ. Interestingly there have been a few turn up on Kijiji over the years with some really spurious bits of kit added. I always wondered how these vehicles made it around on what had to be the most unlikely tyres for an off road vehicle.

Earlier that same year I had made an appointment at CFB Uplands to go record their YJ review vehicle that I had seen a glimpse of. It was a fearfully cold day with snow at times but I was on a mission for 3 different pieces of kit supposedly under their charge. This was at a time when they still had a workshops hangar and the place was always yielding some anomalies and gems.

The cold on this day was to help me on another vehicle but that is another story.

So here is 79118 for your delight

As you can see someone had lavished a lot of time and money into the fabrication of all the parts and fittings. From what I understand there was a "need" for a review vehicle as they older M38A1 or 2 vehicles of the same fit had gone out of the system.

They were very reluctant to allow me to have this vehicle oustide that day. The only photo that does any justice to the colour or the shine is the one of the drivers seat. Really for a CF vehicle this one was so very gloss.
