Bunbury (WA) RSL need a Leo bit...
Hi
Looking to help out Gerry T. at the Bunbury WA RSL Military Collection. He's keen to aquire a Leopard I engine Piston. He's had a big "Negative" from the Oz Army and had asked my Regt for help. I had to do some digging but the end result was the same answer; "No'. We have just divested ours a few months ago. If anyone can help me or knows Gerry and can help, feel free to contact us. I'm pretty sure he has either a limited or non-existant budget for this so please take that into account. Any help appreciated. regards Darrrell |

Have you tried Tim Vibert.
The army cut the engines up rather than sell them off so its really hard to get bits. |

I had a quick look at the part numbers for this item: Mercedes pn 8370306517, Nato Stock number 2815-12-158-7451, and here is the shocker: the price for each is $1,007.50. They will definitely be wanting to find that surplus somewhere.
I knew I had seen a complete pack on the net somewhere and for whatever reason the grey cells clicked and it is Toronto Scientific. They have a complete rebuilt pack, although the price is "contact for price. http://www.torontosurplus.com/commun...e-rebuilt.html |

Hi
I thank you both for your ideas and input. I believe Gerry said he knew MLU Forum so I will steer him toward this thread. Unsure if he knows Tim V. or not, Gina but thanks. I did steer him to Doug Greville's website. A whole pack is not likely the option here for this RSL collection, Rob. I ran the part #s as far as Montreal and the price for the whole assembly complete goes at $4K+. Thereby prompting a DPM(Mat) answer of "No". 105mm Barrel slices are a much better souvenir but like casings, that has become boring with 120mm (smoothbore and combustible case). regards Darrell |

Check with prefair in Montreal. I recall them having some packs available, but I think they were APC. With those guys though you never know.
