Default Diamond T 975 Canadian

Looking for detail, pictures etc of the (different) cargo bed(s) Canadian Diamond T 975. The one I recently bought has a post war cargo bed.. if somebody happens to know a dump with an original cargo bed in any state.. let me know.. (motto, you never know...). Would like to get in contact with an Owner of similar truck in NL/B.

Robbert,

Welcome to the forum!

There is at least one 975 in Holland with the original Canadian body, presumably an 8B1 or 8C1...looking similar to the 8A1/A2 GS body, but in Machinery role with drop sides. Another two T's with Machinery bodies survive in Italy, in the Piana della orme museum.

I am not aware of any T975's surviving with the original 8A1 or A2 General service bodies, but at least one survives with Lindsay Machinery body in Canada, and at least three survive (two in Holland) with pontoon carrier bodies. The latter seem to be ex-Danish vehicles with slightly modified 8G1 "Trestle and Sliding Bay" bodies.

A "spare" Lindsay body was for sale in Canada (should be somewhere on the forum), but I am not aware of any other spare original bodies for sale.

I don't know of any detailed plans of the rear bodies, but some good pictures and overall measurements are to be published in Servicepub's new CMP book series.

Is your truck an ex-Danish or ex-Norway truck with a retro-fitted US 5ton body?

Alex

Robbert,

I presume it is your truck that is for sale on "Generaaltjes"(?).
