Default Chev CMP in video

Hi Dennis,

The cement truck appears to be a Chevy in that video. It has the square cowl vent flaps instead of the trapezoidal ones used on a Ford. Also has the GMC banjo front diff instead of the Hotchkiss type mainly used on Fords.

Interesting little snippet. That was 1969. As late as 1989 there was a Ford CMP in my area fully road registered and used by a local business for installing concrete septic tanks at bush properties.

Wonder who holds the record for latest use of a CMP truck for commercial purposes? Any still working, other than in films?

Cheers,

Default Concrete truck

It's a C60X... so was most likely formerly a Breakdown No4 or a RAAF refueller when in service with the military. Well spotted!

The is still a Chev blitz working in Bright Vic. as well as one converted to a forklift. They are owned and worked by Eddie Cook. The Chev blitz was used recently to winch a tractor onto a semi trailer float.
