Hello all, I am looking for information regarding the WW1 stokes Mortar used by most Commonwealth Forces.
How much different from the latter 3 inch Mortar? There appears to be several variants of base plates and rounds. The Stokes were also used in early WW2 and in some places well after. Thanks, Wayne. |

Hi Rob, thanks for the offer, I have all the information on the WW2 3 inch mortar, just trying to find out if the Stokes is different and in what way.
Appears there were many around even in early WW2 but information is a bit thin. |

No worries Wayne
From what I've read on the subject I think you are right about the Stokes. It was certainly around and in general service way after WW1. Good luck with the research Rob
