Had a discussion with another owner of a 4.2 British mortar tonight, and the subject was the aiming posts. Were they the same as the 3" mortar posts, or were they more akin to the 25pdr posts?

I have looked through my 4.2" manuals and the identification list confirms that the 3" and 4.2" mortars share the same folding aiming posts. Rob.................rnixartillery. |

Attached are scans from the two pages of CES ,gives you an idea of what to look out for .
There is some controversy as to when these mobile mortar's went into service and it is evident at some point in 1945. Rob..................rnixartillery. |
