I am trying to find more information on the attached photo which I think may have come from this Forum. Specifically, I am looking to identify which unit may have 'owned' this vehicle as there are no visible markings other than the invasion star. The photo was in my collection and captioned "cab12 wireless Utrwech Holland 1945 jun 45 - Alex 124831". I remember an Alex van de Wetering posting here I believe but can find no current info on him or if indeed this was his posting. If anyone has any info they can share, I would be grateful.

Neil,
Alex posted it on 13 Apr 15 in this thread:http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...t=10148&page=2 Hanno then added the image again on 15 Dec 21 on page 5 of the same thread. Hanno included a direct link:https://hetutrechtsarchief.nl/beeldm...d-4841dc358fd4 |

Thank you so much Colin! Hanno's post shows it to be a (mis-identified) Bedford of the 3rd Cdn, Inf Div in Utrecht so that cements it (he said hopefully).

Another detail I noticed on the Utrecht vehicle is the roof hatch which was not a standard feature of the #12 Cab. It must have been a retro-fit but am trying to determine if it is the later rectangular type or round. I have photos of 12 Cabs with a round hatch added but so far no rectangular ones. The photo looks like it could be rectangular but my eyes aren't the best. Since I posted this I found a thread on here regarding hatches and it seems the rectangular were more common than the later round and were actually an option on the 12 Cab. I also found a 15cwt 4x2 in my own photo files showing a rectangular hatch on a 12 Cab so my questions are answered.

Neil, I am still here
![]() I am glad Colin was able to help. Indeed, some Cab12's were fitted with square roof hatches from the factory; I have seen at least C15A's and C8's fitted with hatches in factory pictures. I hadn't noticed before, but at least two different C15A Cab12's with Wireless house type bodies were in the Utrecht parade in June 1945. source: https://hetutrechtsarchief.nl/beeldm...ows=1&page=134 https://hetutrechtsarchief.nl/beeldm...ows=1&page=138 https://hetutrechtsarchief.nl/beeldm...rows=1&page=94

Thanks very much Alex for the confirmation. I did add the rectangular hatch when building it and it is now finished. This forum isn't for models so won't post any photos here but they do appear on the MAFVA Facebook page if interested here:

Hi Neil,
What a great result! Please feel free to post photos of your models here. This forum is of course also for modelers, as long as it is related to the Canadian Army Overseas during WW2.
