15-cwt and 8-cwt CMPs

I cannot find the thread for this discussion and so may I ask again what the similarities are between the 15-cwt 4 x 2 and 4 x 4 chassis designs please, and then the 8-cwt likewise although with those designs the 4 x 2 preceded the 4 x 4 of course?
