Default Another Genset Enquiry

Hi all
Murphy's Law is alive and well. Back in early 2003 I was after a manual for a Genset driven by a Coventry Climax engine.

Well now a mate of mine is after a manual for a 5kva Genset driven by a Ford Prefect engine. The Genset is either ex. RAAF or Aust Army, Westinghouse or AEG (Australian General Electric). More particularly he is after the manual for the engine, WW2 vintage.

Anyway back to Murphy's Law. I mentioned to my mate about the earlier query and guess what, right at this moment one of his mates is photocopying a manual for the Coventry Climax Genset. And further to that I now don't have the original contact details for the original query, ergo Genset, no manual, now manual, no Genset.

Bob,

That would be the Ford Industrial Engine either 8 or 10 hp, not sure which a Prefect comes under. Do not remember any gen sets in British Army with this engine, but they did power the DC genny in some of the lorry mounted Coles EMA cranes used by the British forces during WW2. Handbooks appear at stalls at rallies occasionally.

Default Genset Engine

Hi Richard
I was a bit wary of the engine description being Prefect. It was described as a 10hp side valve so your description saying Ford Industrial Engine sounds better to me. I'll pass this on to my mate and we may have better luck with a manual with that title.
Thanks - Bob
