Default Whip Antennae Base

Is this military? Can anyone use it? It came from an amateur radio flea market and is free to a good home.

Default Antenna base

This antenna matching unit (AMU) sorta looks like the one associated with the AN/VRC-12 series of field tactical radios.

The base for those radios is the CX-6706, but the item shown in this picture seems to be pretty well stripped down.

If it's a clapped out CX-6706, then I don't think it's of much use to anyone.

Anyone else recognize this item as other than a CX-6706?

BTW, thanks for the pic!

Default More Info

The base is a simple spring not a matching coil. Radio Shack will sell you a similar mount for your citizens band whip but this is heavier duty and has the nice green look.
