does any one know the rockwell hardness for the track pins?any advise concerning how to build a set of pins would be appreciated.

hello Lyle,
years ago I had a handful of new carrier pins hardness tested, all came up at 54-56 Rc. The pins were induction hardened to keep the centres tough but not hard, and to keep them straight. New pins are .437 dia. and cold headed on one end. Pins for T 16 tracks are about 1/4" too short for Canadian machines. Perry |
