The video and lyrics show the sorry state our government and educational system is in .
Younger generations do not know, or understand ,the sacrifices made by those who went to war. They take for granted the freedom they enjoy today.Little do they now WHY we have this freedom. Our government/educational system does very little to teach Canada's military history to the young, instead they skim /skip over it.Teach them why we went to war and the end results of these wars. Eccelesiastes,3:3;[in part];A time to kill and a time to heal, 3:8;[in part];A time for war and a time for peace I salute the vetrans and those who made the supreme sacrifice. Hello Everyone ... I'm sure all of our attentions are focussed on Remembrance. Below is a link to a Winnipeg Sun story about a man ... the tattoes and new ones to come sound amazing. This man is a PRUDEN from Lockport Manitoba ... which is where my Grandpa was born (Joe Smith) ... Grandpa's Mom was a Jane Pruden ... can't help but wonder if this man in this story is a relation. I must be related to everyone in South east manitoba methinks
![]() http://www.winnipegsun.com/News/Winn...01957-sun.html I'd like to see the tattoe on his back of the D-Day Landings if he every gets that done. What i like about what this guy has done is that he carries that artwork with him and everyone he meets see's it, therefore are reminded and even may get to talking and learning ... therefore understanding and gratitude can spread a little more. Poppies ... I love seeing the lost/dropped Poppies on the sidewalks and in the stores ... everyone walking by who spots them is immediately "reminded about remembering" ... drop a Poppy today ... as a little reminder for all who walk by it and are reminded ... or have their curiousity tweaked in wanting to know more about their signifigance ... ? ![]() ![]() |

Iwent to the Remembrance concert at St Mary's last night. As I entered the main door there stood a vet with a box of poppies.Immediately made a beeline to his table. The first thing he asks me if I had any relatives from the war. So,as I put my three toneys n the box he says to me "How many do you want"?So,I related that my dad was a D-Day Dodger,my wife Debbie's dad was military policeman at Normandy. He says"Do you have any kids"?Yes,two daughters.Sooo !! this vet hands me a fistful of poppies and tells me to pass them around.Well two daughters went of today to junior college and university, proudly wearing the poppies.During the concert, anyone not wearing one was handed a freebee during intermission.
A great night was had by all except me-not being invited to play with my old band The Air Force Pipes and Drums.Oh well! ![]() |
