Bottom photo last vehicle on the right seems to be a cab 11 or 12 with a radiator overflow container attached to the side above the LF mudguard.
Thanks for sharing Cheers Cliff |

The truck towing the 1 ton trailer i would say is a Karrier K6 3ton, take a close look at the front mudguards. Looks like it has been modified for living accomadation

The CMPs in your picture entitled Uedem belong to the Highland Light Infantry of Canada (9th Inf Bde/3rd Cdn Inf Div) and those in your picture entitled Keppeln belong to the North Nova Scotia Highlanders (9th Inf Bde/3rd Cdn Inf Div). These were taken during the Battle of the Rhineland (Operation BLOCKBUSTER 22 Feb - 10 Mar 45). Cheers

Amazed at the number of new photos that continue to crop up and the quality of the prints. Thanks Marco and everyone else who keeps sharing their finds.

notice the trees on the left with the paper or tin strapped to the bottom trunk. Could they be for driving at night, a sort of reflector, or for some other purpose ? Opinions.

With the slit night driving lights I would think that something of lighter colour on markers or trees , such as these pieces , would greatly enhance night driving using just visible light and still be pretty innocuous from the air. As in a nighttime snow storm when visibility is 50 gophers long and you use the road edge plowed snow to navigate at higher than smart speeds. Sean

The trailer X 4686149 or thereabouts appears to be a G.W. & L. 'Trailer 1-ton 2-wheel G/S'. in the batch X 4685180 to 4686429 supplied under contract S.1060.

I like the last pic with the International Harvester halftrack.
I wasn't sure at first but if you look carefully over the shoulder of the first soldier carrying the bag, you can see that the front fender is an IHC one. It does not have the filler section as does a White. |
