Airborne Carriers

Perhaps this has been done on the forum before - sorry if i missed it.
Could any of you knowledgeable guys out there point me in the direction of information on carriers as used by the Airborne Forces both in WWII and after?
I am interested in the special features of such carriers; did the Airborne use different types of carrier etc.
Also and perhaps this should be on the Armour forum, can anyone give me information on Airborne use of the Dingo scout car or any other vehicles (other than the ubiquitous jeep, Tetrach and Locust tanks etc.)
