Hey all, just wondering if anyone had any photos of vehicles with the polar bear divisional sign of the 49th West Riding Infantry Division? Specifically looking for ones of the Leicestershire Regiment, but any from the 49th will do.
Cheers, Rob

Another carrier, interestingly this is a Windsor, which ones only sees photographed right at the end of the war in Holland. This picture was taken on 7 May 1945 at Amersfoort.

Interesting posts, in that the chart that I have, dated 8 May 1945, titled Formation Signs, shows the following:
The Polar Bear is shown facing to the right, vice to the left as depicted on vehicles. The reference on my chart is to the 49 (W.R.) Inf Div.

I've noticed that too - but on some vehicles it also faces to the right. I'm a re-enactor in a group that portrays the Leicestershire regiment (they were in the 49th), and the polar bear faces forward on the divisional patches on the arms, so presumably that means it should face right?
