1943?
It seems to be a "1943 Model" engine, as used in C60S, C60L, and C-GT. The casting date code on the block will confirm the date but the engine number is appropriate for 1943 build (Oshawa end!).

David Thanks very much, this would fit very well with 1943 conversion, although it could have been fitted any time after that date,bit of a coincidence though. Cheers Dick

Engine
Don't forget that engines were switched willy-nilly on rebuild. However it's appropriate in my opinion all round.
