Default Universal Carrier ID

Who can tell exactly which type of carrier we are looking at from the inside?

Hi Lynn

I disagree.

It should be a Mk2 (Welsh Guards version) If you look closely there are 2 fire extingusihers mounted on either side of the gun opening. Also gunners plate has the small hinged central flap on it. This would fold down. The plate on the left doesn't have any hinges on it, so it can't fold down. You can also just make out the top portion of the small single headlight on the left hand side. The bag hanging on the R.H. side looks to be one of the leather "bail out" bags.

There are some other pictures taken by the same photographer in the same general area. A few of them show some carriers and he may have ridden along the road in one of them. One of the carriers is a Mk1 3" Mortar carrier and the other is clearly a Mk2.
