We have had a magnificent Chev C60L given to the museum, however it is minus a tray. We have some great carpenters here so we will probably build a timber body. Does anyone have any plans for a timber body, including spare tyre carrier and toolbox? Or possibly some good photos?

Nice to meet you mate I live in Gympie.
If no one can help with full scale plans I can probably draw you a set up off photos with measurements similar to the model below. ![]() this one does not have the built in spare wheel carrier but I do have photos of them with it. All I need is someone to give me the exact length and width of the real thing and I can scale the rest off the photos.

I agree Darren bloody wonderful photos. Max do you have any idea what the wood used is? Looks like the metal bits are of simple design ment to be fabricated by small metal working shops instead of large stamping operations. Looks like a long wheel base Ford.
Cheers Phil

It's a Ford F60L with a very early ARN.
The body would probably be some sort of Australian hardwood such as Eucalyptus. The story is it was a 'spare' truck bought after the war and when bought by the previous owner the the seller produced the original tarp from his shed, and that's the one you see on it. This truck was kept for some time in the Melbourne Tank Museum and you can see it as the 'prop' behind John Belfield in "Year of the Blitz". She's a gem, isn't she?
