Women in the CF

I know there's a few of you here currently serving in various branches. My question is, what opportunities are there in the current CF for young women? One of my stepdaughters has expressed an interest in joining once she completes high school next June, and I would like an informal, NON-recruitment-oriented opinion on her options if she chooses to go ahead with this.

Hi Geoff,

Since there are no longer gender restrictions for trades within the CF, women can apply for entry into any trade (subject to vacancies of course). Opportunities are many! Just to name a few: Combat Arms (armoured, infantry, artillery), technical trades (electronics, mechanics), logistics (driver, supply clerk, finance clerk, administration clerk), medical & dental technicians, law enforcement, communication operator (including computer network administration).
