Default Dalby Qld

I was in Dalby over the weekend and came across a number of Blitzs in a backyard. They belong to Ken Mackay a gentleman in his 70s who says he will get around to restoring them. Let's hope they don't just rust away.

The ARN umber is still very visible.

This is the remains of a wireless truck. The remains of the data plate on the passenger side say as much.

I was told this is the nose cone of a NZ 8AX Puddle Jumper. The Kiwi can be made out on the TAC sign but doesn,t show too well on this photo. How it got to Dalby I can only guess.

Even though I currently reside smack in the centre of the #12 cab universe, I still haven't seen a samplle like the top one with fairleads, AND bonnet badge....
I, too, know of several trucks owned by men in their twilight years who insist that they will restore them. One of the dear fellows has trouble walking etc but still will not let any of his gear go... It's frustrating. Rather than rusting into the ground on some farm somewhere, they could be rusting into the ground at my place!

Default ARN 58332

Despite the Canadian fairleads this is not a No 8 or 9 (Aust) Arty tractor. The ARN comes from a block of numbers listed as a direct purchase from Canada (as opposed to the CKD versions we received) and looking at the heavy steering box is probably either a F60S or F60L.

The vehicle record books at the AWM will reveal the original body type in due course.

It's a nice straight looking cab!

Default A door!

Nice intact interior. The engine covers are usually missing.

Thanks Grant.
