"Search" Checklist

I have little or no experience in conducting a search for records of former members of the Forces.
I have seen in this forum many helpful hints, suggestions, tips etc to aid family, researchers, or individuals who are simply curious about those who have served.
Keeping an indivuals right to privacy in mind, would it still be possible to construct a checklist of addresses, phone numbers, web sites etc that would provide "one-stop shopping" for people looking to learn more about the generation involved in "The Last Good War"?
