Default Another SEG, I'm afraid

Well I did pick one without the grin part so as not to upset a certain chappie in Toronto because he has actually leaned into the cockpit I was in... the aircraft in the distance is a Lockheed 12, recently acquired by Doug Hamilton.

Default One of the Lockheed

This is a 1937 design and a variant built for the US Airforce as a C40A. It was reconfigured by the factory after the war to airliner standard.

Vegemite...how does the 12 differ from the 10A?

Reason for asking...the 10A was the first airliner in service with Trans Canada Airlines, c. 1930s.

Default 12

Not entirely sure, Jon but I think it had larger engines... as a military version the loading door was also different.

Will see what I can dig up.

Keith
Looked very much like the Beechcraft C45 Expeditor...or as we called it the "Exploder"//.

Nice little aircraft to fly around in nice weather..
See here.

Little bit of difference as to the positioning of the tail as it mounts to the fuselage..
Engines are bigger too I think.

Default Cockpit pics

Sad to say I didn't get around to going into the cockpit - the temp on the ramp in the sun was around 50C and even more inside the aircraft. Will make sure I take a ride next time.

Who's a silly bunt, then? Sorry mate, but 50C sounds like a little bit of heaven right now...

main difference between 50C and what you have got is at 50C you need a fridge to keep the ice for your drinks in whereas you need a hot plate to keep the drink in liquid form and drinkable.
