thanks Hanno,

I just received new pictures of my future T16, and I notice that I have no connectors to the engine for the engine oil cooler
Is there a different system?

SDT16 18-09-17 14:30

You are missing the valve body that mounts there. I am too;(... I will try to find a picture of it and post.

Hi Didier
Think you have the wrong engine block. There should be a second hole drilled and taped about 2 inches closer to the center of the engine where the return line would go.
Chad

Didier Huybrechts 20-09-17 10:31

I imagine that the engine could heat up much more without the system?
but can it run without the system?

Chad Marshall 20-09-17 23:22

You should be fine running it were you are. I don't have a t16 but have ran a MKI Carrier for years without one. An old REME fellow told me they would bypass them if they leaked in Europe rather than fix them. Just leave the rad blocking board off.

Presumably to be marked up as Canadian vehicle.

Gordon Yeo 21-09-17 15:21

oil cooler

Didier

As Chad has suggested, you could block off the oil cooler line to the radiator. My oil cooler radiator was getting to the point that was leaking. The repair looked very expensive and I also though it unnecessary so, I installed an oil filter unit into the line and buy passed the oil cooler radiator.

How is the rear stowage box construction coming along??

Gord

Didier Huybrechts 22-09-17 09:05

hello gord,

I will do a test without the oil cooler, I will see if the engine heats or not, I will notice later,

concerning the rear box, I have not yet started :nono:

thx
didier

Still have a handful of NOS seals from when I restored the T-16 I used to own. Perfect time to replace them while you have the rear end opened up.

Its from a Swiss T-16. They had plates that bolted onto the original wading skirt positions. Some to hold top bows and others like that one to enable the top to be rope lashed down.

Didier Huybrechts 20-11-18 08:44

thanks David

now i know
