This restored amateur footage shows units of the 1st Canadian Infantry Division arriving in Rotterdam on 8 May 1945 to reinstate Allied / Dutch control over the city.

The parade held about a month later shows a nice and varied selection of Canadian, British and US vehicles used by an infantry division: https://youtu.be/y4yc4ThYv5I The voiceover is in Dutch, but may well be disregarded as it has a number of errors. The line up of CMP 3-tonners are wrongly identified as “trucks of the American brand GMC”. Enjoy! Hanno
