There are obviously 3 patterns for wheel. I believe the 1950s ones have a small hole in the rim approx 1/8" diameter near the raised center.
The CDN3 has definative weld lumps near the center. I cannot remember off hand what the CDN2 rim has that makes it stand out. I have some of each, when I am back home maybe I can get some pics to demonstrate the differences.

I am at a conference for work at present but when I return home I'll snap some pictures. Perhaps we can figure out some sort of trade .

On My 52 M38CDN the original rims 3 have the small 1/8 hole, 2 are stamped Kelsy Hayes all had the valve stem line up with a lug nut and all had riveted centers.
on my 1953 M38A1CDN all were stamped Kelsey Hayes, none had the small hole, all the valve stems lined up with a lug nut, and all had riveted centers. On my 71 M38A1CDN3 No stamping, no small hole, all the valve stems lined up with a lugnut and the centers were welded. Quite a while ago an old guy ![]() Of course I cannot verify any of this but I find myself peering at every vintage jeep, civy or military to see what the stems are doing and right now the aspect seems to be accurate. ![]()

We have to remember that the Cdn 3 was built in the USA, and not Canada like the other M38/M38A1 Cdns. That would likely make a difference in the source of some components like rims.
