CheVroleT.
Hanno, the AIF could only have had CMPs that had been assembled in Alexandria from say January 1941. I cannot see that they brought any with them ifrom England in December '40 except for those sold to the British by the Canadians after assembly and then issued to the AIF (which is believed to have been the case but I have no definitve proof). There was I think at this stage no time for British-order trucks to have been assembled and shipped out with the AIF/NZEF to the Mid-East from England. It would appear that the vehicles shipped on to the Balkans must have been darn nearly brand new! The Germans had nice new, just run-in vehicles as a consquence I thought! |

The F15 did belong to the Aust 6th Div ( kangaroo over the boomerang ) not sure what the D2 means .
I bet the soldier carrying out the repairs is cursing these english trucks , not much room to work in there. Regards Jim S.

A post War photo: A team from the Int. Red Cross provide medical care to children, in an unknown village. Winter 1946.
CMP_C30_Int_ RED_CROSS_ 1946.jpg It's interesting to find out the type of the vehicle's body. I think we have a C30 here. Trying a quick search, I didn't manage to find a similar..

Hi Haridimos
Thanks for posting the picture, still trying to figure out why some links don't work. It is always interesting to see pictures of CMPs in use, many I'm sure served on for many years after the war. Cheers Phil

Another F15 Cab 11, captured by the German Army. Looking a bit battered, stopped with engine trouble?
Reportedly the picture was taken on Crete. H.

Interesting pic Hanno, I'm guessing they've only just come across this vehicle and judging by the interest shown it's the first time they've laid eyes on a CMP! Notice the way they're hurrying down the road to check it out! They look pretty relaxed and unarmed so presumably its former owners have long since departed. If it's on Crete they probably drove it down to the coast and abandoned it before being evacuated by sea. Looks like they've hit something and bent the bumper back onto the LH tyre so they removed it. They've relocated the unit sign (2/6 Battalion) from the bracket on the bumper to the mudguard.
