The first CMP I restored, a cab 11 Ford 15cwt, came from a Farmer who bought it directly from the army in 1946. He charged me the same price that he paid for it then....$300.
I guess the truck price was somewhat high for back then. Most of the stories about war surplus in the area had farmers dragging home aircraft for $10 each. The farmer would sell the engine off for that price, and the fuselage was relegated to chicken coup duty. The runways at McGregeor Manitoba were fliled with surplus vehicles, aircraft and guns for 5 years after the war. I believe it operated as a disposal site until somewhere between 49-52. |

do you have any better pics of the wrecking crane? it looks like a weaver 2 - 3 ton hand crank unit...the same as i plan on using on my 12cab.

bobee, how goes it? not much to report ref 12 cab. i havn't had much time between work and the baby. still collecting parts though, but it will probably be a while before i get the time.
