There should be a serial number stamped on the frame rail around the left front spring shackle. I'd guess around late 43.

hello eric
myself and the previous owner of the c60l had a discussion some time ago. that truck was purchased in saint john. it likely served at either barrack green, coastal defence, or at camp utopia during the war. mike |

I asked about he Ford script on an old thread and here's Keith Webb's response.
"All the features fit and the 'FORD' script makes it a 1943 model. The 1944/5 models had 'FORD CANADA' " The round roof hatch started in 1944 also. I have several Cab 13 F15As and none of them have serial numbers stamped in the frame. My F15A Cab 11 and Cab 12 all have serial numbers where Kirk mentions and these are the engine serial numbers. The engine number is also stamped into the top slope of the clutch housing on the front of the transmission. You have to bear in mind that it might not be the original tranny though.

I'm quite sure that the removable bar was also applied to late production Chevs because there is a Chev nose or two with the removable bar in the Hammond parts collection. I haven't see any documentation on when the removable feature was started.
