Default Back to the registration tag...

Hi Eric

There are some particular information on that registration tag you posted.

The yellow tag you showed is showing a contract order number ## PE-197-12 which according to Guru David Hayward was a late war Australian contract.

I predict that you have a C60 with C15a small axles and either 16 inch or possibly 20 inch wheels......

I need you to check out something for me...... whenever the snow melts down to less than 2 feet..... check the top of the front axle..... driver's side where the steering arm connects to the the axle.... how many bolts are there....... 4 bolts or 6 bolts...... 4 bolts will indicate the smaller C15 axle...

Also.... what kind of instruments do you have... the round individual military gauges or the square civilian truck type.......

For some unexplained reasons some C60 were built with small axles and intended for 16 inch rims....... I have found at least half a dozen in Angus' yard in Sault St Marie....some in Belleville..... I have one.... some in a scrtap yard in western Ontario. They have a mixture of round guages and square 1940 style guages...... all have small C15a axles....... obviously they where made too late and never shipped to Australia....... and all made in Sept 1944.

I have record of.....Sept. 22 44 serial number ending in 3421
Sept. 18 44 Eric's 3231
Sept. 14 44 3101

I have attached a few pics...

Comments from any one on this particular strange built....?

Bob C.

Question previous message

Hi, the 2 holes in the corner of the cab roof, what used to be there? ant?
My f15a has the exact same holes, before I make them disappear, what was the reason for the holes?
Made a mistake in my new shop, too airtight.

Default You got it Dennis

They are ant holes........ should have seen the nest inside....

....... the air must be getting rarified in that shop...... crack the door open..!!!

Kidding aside...... it a Ford and they have holes all over...
...makes the Holy-er that way.....

I know Chevs don't have them.......

...... Boob
