The fourth, and possibly the fifth pics are of Philip Mountbatten. He served in the Royal navy in the Mediterranean and Pacific theatres so these two pics could be taken just about anywhere. Philip Mountbatten is better known today as Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and is the Royal Consort. Derek.

For the fun of it who can identify the vehicles in the first picture? Also look in the corner behind the men in the courtyard, is that a pair of the battery carts that have been discussed in another thread?

Kuno- My guess as to location when I first saw them was Palistine, but after you identified them I looked closer at the lettering on the Church and Benghazi made more senses. How did you identify the sites so quickly?

Also does any body know if these are reprints of common photos or likely to have been taken by an individual?

Spent three years in Benghazi and the buildings are still there.

I don't think Mountbatten and Prince Phillip are the same person. I think it is Mountbatten in the picture but he was murdered by the IRA in the 1979 I think. Prince Phillip is well still Prince Phillip acording to his wife Queen Elizebeth.

No, Harry, I haven't been away too long. Lord LOUIS Mountbatten was Philip's uncle.

I believe that Harry is saying that the chap in the picture is Mountbatten Senior/..

Look at the sleeve and the gold braid on the lad...
Prince Phil was a lowly three ringer at this time ..
The likeness are striking at that age..
