Default You should have regrets.....

HI Eric

The two brackets you removed should have been left there..... they are part of the brackets that holds the tarp cover inplace when you remove it. You should be able to mig weld them in place without too much trouble

I am not sure about the other holes...... the one with 3 bolts could be for a snorkel running to the top of the engine cover...... do you have a picture fo the top of your engine cover....?? these were very late conversions and very few actually exists..... you may have a missmatched top or engine cover.

The other hole with 6 bolts may have been for an radio antenna base.... it looks the right size.......again not a common conversion..... maybe one of a kind field modification.

Default Maybe.....

I can't tell if it is a pinup picture from your girl friend or a piece of sheet metal....

For God's sake take the engine cover out for a good picture.....

Do the hole in the top line up with the hole in the engine cover...?

Default Knob and bracket,

Eric,
I have a spare knob and the bracket it screws to on the outer window frame but I don't have a spare slider.Let me know where to send it and it's yours.I just removed it from a spare window frame and of course broke the long stud that ties everything together but it can be replaced.I wish I had a set of torches to heat things up properly to remove them.I also needed one of these brackets for my cmp and broke mine while removing it!
Derk.

Hi Eric,
The holes in the centre of the windscreen frame are for the wiper shaft.

be nice if we could accually see the tag rather then a dark smudge in the background of a rather dark photo. Be better if you tidied the photos up so we can see them before you post them.

There was a mount to hold the extendible antenna mast (either 20 or 34 foot versio) on vehicle roofs. The drawing I have of it shows a 3 screw mounting but is not clear whether the mout was for use on truck cabs or the top of the wireless body.

These modifications came late in the war and very few survived.... you truck may have been used for training troups or testing in Canada..... I do not recall ever reading that they had been used in actual battle conditions.

Now if you can find the original snorkel tube and the full installation kit you would be a rich man.
