It is, isn´t is? I recalled seeing that driver's window mod before, and matched it to a pic of the same CGT on miliblog.co.uk. Decked out with the RAC sign and crane in the back, it clearly was used as a tow truck just like many CMPs after the war. Hanno

Even though the crane jib was fitted to the back, it seems it still retained the sides of the beetle-back. Did anyone ever try to list the surviving cab 11/12 Gun Tractors? Alex

In my opinion it might be an original body, but not a body originally mounted on a Cab 13 CMP.

From the MVT's Greensheet. It is listed as a 15-cwt, but it sure looks like an F8 8-cwt truck.

cheers Hanno i will pass it along.... the wheels look very small for a 15 cwt....from a novice perspective it does appear as you say to be an 8cwt truck

It must be an F8 - somehow I have a feeling it is this one . . . maybe because it was mis-labelled as an F15 too?

Guys, There are a couple of interesting projects on Milweb at the moment. One is a C30 LAAT, complete but in need of restoration (bit expensive I feel, or is it ?), and in the Armoured section, there is a M H armoured car, which requires finishing £10K. Regards Keith |
