Bugger I painted mine black??
also I couldn't see much wrong with the outside shots. Any pictures of the interior? Ron

I don't know about British cans, but Canadian 2 gal. water cans were painted gray like this:

I'm in Norway in two weeks time. Where is this museum? Opening times ?

Post the data plate information and we may be able to tell you more. Contract number, with serial number and month/year of manufacture.

As you are looking for criticism,
What is happening along the side at the front guard?
Is that a normal mirror arm arrangement?

Thank you, the missing side skirts of the guards will be put back on when they have been sandblasted and painted. Don't know about the mirror arm, it does look longer than the ones I've seen on other carriers.
